PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a holding plate device to avoid waste even after the holding of an expansion type antenna is released by mounting a sensor at least one of the plate members in a holding plate device capable of surrounding and holding the expansion type antenna and releasing its holding state. SOLUTION: When a large expandable antenna 1 is expanded in the outer space, the connection between the plate members of a holding plate device 20 can be released by blasting the explosives incorporated in a separate nut. The TV cameras 21, 22 are loaded on the holding plate device 20. Two TV cameras 21, 22 are respectively installed on the plate members located at both ends of the holding plate device 20 in an expanded state. The images of the target seals affixed on the predetermined reference positions on a mirror surface of the large expandable antenna 1 are photographed by the TV cameras 21, 22 respectively installed on the different places to discriminate whether the large expandable antenna 1 is correctly expanded or not.
