PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce steel cords for reinforcing rubber products that have a stabilized yarn twist structure without any occurrence of deviation in the central wire groups or the intermediate wire groups, as the penetration properties of the rubber material are retained. SOLUTION: In the stele cords that have a three-layer twisting structure of L+M+N (L: 1-3 strands, M: 6-9 strands, N: 7-15 strands) or have a bundle- twisting structure of 1×P (P: 7-27 strands), the wires constituting the core layers 2, 8 and the wires constituting the intermediate layers 4, 9 are lightly imparted with a spiral habit, respectively to form a space A. Then, the steel cords are twisted so that parts of arbitrary wires 5, 6, 10, 11 on the outer layers thereof may partially fall into the space A at different positions in the cord- longitudinal direction.
