PURPOSE: A method for processing signal when recording and reproducing signal in long time in magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is provided to record a great amount of data by storing a real data in a buffer during a time of (n-1)n track and reading data from the buffer to record when a time of a recording track become. CONSTITUTION: A memory controller(18) counts a track start signal when the track start signal is inputted. A shuffling reference signal is generated when the counted value is six. A period in which data is existed is searched when the shuffling signal is generated. An effective track start signal is generated in a start time of data. The data shuffling signal is generated when the counted value is six. A control logic unit(18b) of the memory controller(18) shuffles data stored in a first memory(13) when the data shuffling data is generated and transmits the shuffled data to a digital channel interface unit(19) to record the data in a recording medium(21).
