PURPOSE: A method is provided to record and reproduce a computer music file data. CONSTITUTION: The method for recording and reproducing a music file data comprises the steps of: performing a music file managing program in a personal computer(200); setting a power supply mode of a portable audio record and reproduce apparatus(300) connected to the personal computer(200), to a hard disk mode; loading a music file data and table information down or up to the portable audio record and reproduce apparatus(300); storing the data and table information loaded down to from the personal computer(200) into a hard disk; setting the power supply mode to a reproduce mode; selecting a music file data referring to the stored table information; reading the selected music file data from the hard disk; decoding the read music file information; and converting the decoded music file data to analog audio signal to output the converted audio signal.
