PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the retrieval and synthesis of many film materials and to easily produce a sensor having an optional characteristic by forming a chemical sensor sensitive film by use of a mixture consisting of two or more film materials differed in polarity. SOLUTION: The selectivity of a quartz oscillator sensor is largely influenced by the kind of the film material to be applied on an electrode. Sensitive film can be largely classified into four groups according to their response patterns; polar gas chromatographic(GC) liquid phase, non-polar GC liquid phase, cyclodextrin and phospholipid. Two or more film materials differed in polarity are mixed together, whereby the characteristic of a smell sensor film can be controlled. Namely, two or more film materials differed in polarity are mixed together, and its mixing ratio is changed, whereby a sensor having an optional characteristic can be provided. As the sensitive film material, 29 kinds such as Apiezon, phenylmethyl polysiloxane, polyphenylether and the like are given.
