Date Oct. 23, 1997A polyester having a hydroxyl value of at least 30 mg KOH/g and a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of preferably from 1,000 to 500,000 and prepared by polycondensation of a polycarboxylic acid ingredient predominantly comprised of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol ingredient predominantly comprised of a hindered alcohol. This polyester is suitable for modifying a resinous or rubbery polymer.
