PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently improve the refrigerating power of a pulse pipe refrigerating machine by readily realizing the optimum PV phase angle at the low temperature end of a pulse pipe. SOLUTION: A pulse pipe refrigerating machine is constituted in such a way that a cold storage device 3 and a pulse pipe 4 are connected in series with the connecting pipe 2 of a compressor 1 in this order and, at the same time, a buffer tank 6 is connected to the normal-temperature end of the pulse pipe 4 through an orifice valve 5 and the tank 6 is connected to the compressor 1 with a branch pipe (return pipeline) 7 interposed with a valve 8 and a unidirectional valve 9 which allows a flow to the compressor 1 from the buffer tank. In addition, the normal-temperature end of the pulse pipe 4 is connected to the normal-temperature end of the cold storage device 3 through a double-inlet valve 10.
