摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module for easily controlling the temp. of an area containing an array waveguide having an optical multiplexing/ demultiplexing function. SOLUTION: Relating to the optical module containing a waveguide chip 7 with the array waveguide 3 having the optical multiplexing/demultiplexing function formed on its surface and a Peltier element 8 for controlling the temp. of the waveguide chip 7 in a package 11, the Peltier element 8 is fixed to the package 11 through adiabatic material 12 so that its heat radiation surface 8a is exposed out of the package 11.
