A process for the removal of organic contamination in wastewater and ground water comprises the adsorption of the contaminants to polymers on a solid support and microbial regeneration of the polymers. The process takes place in an adsorber column. The microorganisms enter from a bioreactor into the column under the pressurized air to form a whirl which coats the column.
