The headrest's height locking unit(8) and pivot locking unit(9) each have a push component which is axially movable against spring action from a locked position to a released position. The push component(16) of the height locking unit has a yoke(22) engaging in a tangential slot(23) in the support rod(4) for the headrest. The push component(17) of the pivot locking unit is longitudinally movable but torsionally fixed on a support component(10) in communication with the support rod and by means of external teeth(25) can be selectively brought in and out of engagement with internal tooth spaces(26) in the headrest housing(6).
