PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct-writing recorder and a substrate therefore in which fluctuation of image density can be eliminated without turning a toner holding member at high speed. SOLUTION: The direct-writing recorder comprises a recording roller for transferring charged toners, a back face electrode for attracting the toner particles disposed oppositely to the recording roller, and a substrate disposed between the recording roller and the back face electrode in order to control flight of the toner particles toward the back face electrode. The substrate 50 has a plurality of holes 56 for passing toner particles and each hole is provided with an electrode 68 for permitting flight of toner particles on the recording roller depending on electric oscillation. The electrode 68 is shaped into a ring surrounding the hole 56 partially cut in the direction 64 of the rotational axis of the recording roller.
