PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical recording medium which is provided with a substrate, in which a laser beam transmitting-light transparent layer is extremely thin and uniform, in an optical recording medium which performs at least the reproduction of information by the laser beam. SOLUTION: A holding plate 3 is provided with a transparent high molecular thin plate on one or both sides thereof via an adhesive layer 4. A surface having grooves or pits for tracking and an information recording layer 2B are provided on the transparent high molecular thin plate 1. An interval between the boundary surface of the information recording layer 2B and or the surface having the grooves or pits for tracking and a medium surface on the laser beam- incident side is 0.05 to 0.1 mm. The holding plate 3 is >=0.9 mm in thickness. |
