摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the terminal voltage of a secondary battery without losing energy to the extent where it can be recognized by forming a high-impedance node at the low side of a battery and regulating a voltage at the high side of the battery to a value that is lower than the maximum allowable terminal voltage. SOLUTION: Under a monitor mode, a charger controller 210 turns off a field effect transistor(FET) 218 and sets a node 224 to a high-impedance node, and a battery 212 is floated during an entire monitoring period. Then, after a high-impedance node is formed at the low side of the battery 212, the charger controller 210 regulates a voltage at the high side of the battery in a high-side detection input node 222 to a lower, specific value than the maximum allowable terminal voltage of the battery 212, thus measuring the voltage at the low side of the battery. As a result, the only load that can be recognized and applied to the battery 212 is an FET 218, thus extremely limiting the delivery of a battery energy.
