PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain anilines under rather mild conditions in a high yield and selectivity by reacting phenols with an aminating agent in the presence of a specific catalyst. SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by reacting phenols (preferably, phenol) with an aminating agent (preferably, ammonia) in the presence of a catalyst, preferably at a temp. of 200-500 deg.C and under a pressure of 1-50 atm in gas phase. The catalyst is a zeolite having MFI type structure containing gallium, preferably gallosilicate having MFI structure or gallium-carrying ZSM-5. A gallium content in the zeolite having MFI type structure containing gallium is preferably 0.005-0.3 per the total weighty of the zeolite having MFI type structure containing gallium. It is preferable to supply the phenol at 0.05-10 g/h per 1 g of the catalyst. It is preferable to carry out the reaction continuously. |
