<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and simply set a consumable electrode in concentric state in a copper crucible of a consumable electrode type arc melting furnace. SOLUTION: An alignment device 10 for positioning and supporting the consumable electrode 6 to the center position in the copper crucible 1 is provided above the copper crucible 1. A stub 7 or the consumable electrode 6 is aligned to the center position in the copper crucible 1 with the alignment device 10 in the condition of putting the consumable electrode 6 at a position lower than the surface level of the copper crucible 1 by a crane. The consumable electrode 6 is put on the bottom part of the copper crucible 1 and, after chucking the stub 7 by a stiffener rod 4, the support of the stub 7 or the consumable electrode 6 with the alignment device 10 is released.</p> |
