Structural elements for the prefabrication of floors comprising parallel ribs 12 and slabs 20 filling the space between the adjacent ribs and bearing on the upper face 17 of these ribs in order to form a bearing surface 10. These slabs are produced in a monolithic form made from a rigid alveolate (cavitied) material. They rest on the ribs 12 by borders 27, 28 so that their upper faces form a substantially continuous floor surface as it is laid down. The assembly thus produced is easy to manufacture, to transport and to handle in order to obtain a floor which is both lightweight, strong and having a good insulation. A device for insulating the ventilation space is also provided, formed from lightweight insulating panels which are applied as a soffit (underlayer) to the ribs with the aid of a sprung suspension. <IMAGE>
