PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a molded coil to be easily impregnated with a molding resin so that the dielectric strength of the coil may be increased by forming a space by partially interposing spacers made of the same material as a molding resin between strands in an interstage section which is a folded section through a transition section wound with a coil and injecting the molding resin into the space. SOLUTION: At the time of manufacturing a molded coil 11, a strand 3 carrying a coating 2 is wound in two stages and a space 12 is formed by partially interposing a plurality of spacers 13 between the strand 3 of an interstage section 10 which becomes a folded section through a second-stage transition section. The spacers 13 are molded by using the same material as a molding resin 6 and installed to the interstage section 10 of the coil 11. Then an insulating layer having the thickness of the molding resin 6 is formed in the space 12 by injecting the molding resin 6 into the space 12 between the strand 3 in the insterstage section 10 while the coil 1 is supported in a mold so that the coating film 2 of the strand 3 on the inside may be impregnated successively with the resin 6.
