PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact optical pickup device capable of recording and reproducing on/from optical disks, differing in the thicknesses of substrates. SOLUTION: This optical pickup device has a laser package 5 containing laser diodes 1, 2 emitting diverging rays in a predetermined direction. The device is constituted so that the emitting point of the laser diode 1 is positioned at the focal point of an object lens to be arranged facing a recording plane of the optical disk, and the emitting point of the laser diode 2 is located at a position deviated by a predetermined distance toward the object lens from the focal point of the object lens. |
