A car anti-theft system has an output of an electronic control unit (10) supplied via a main relay (9) for a certain time after an ignition switch (5) is switched off. There is: a detection device to detect whether the main relay was in operation for the length of the certain time after the ignition switch was switched off; a counter device to count a number in which the detection device detects that the main relay was not in operation for the length of the certain time; and an operation prohibition device to prohibit an operation of the car when the number counted by the counting device is equal to or greater than a certain number.
