Antioxidant intraocular lens

An intraocular lens (10) includes a body (32) having an antioxidant substance (30) distributed throughout or coated thereon. The antioxidant substance detoxifies and neutralizes free radicals in the eye (12) when the lens is implanted in the eye. Free radicals can lead to cataracts and the antioxidant intraocular lens (50) will thus help combat cataract formation.
