PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized one input and one output optical delay device that causes a delay with an optional time up to the (n-1)th time slot of an input signal to the input signal. SOLUTION: The optical delay device within n-input and 1-output consists of a 1st multiplexer section that multiplexes n-waves of optical signals with wavelengths λ0, λ1,..., λn-1 into one signal, a wavelength demultiplexer section 2 with 1-input n-output that extracts an optical signal of each wavelength from the signal that is wavelength-multiplexed, n-sets of wavelength conversion sections 3 that apply wavelength conversion of the optical signals with the wavelengths of λ0, λ1,..., λn-1 into the optical signals with the wavelengths λ0, λ1,..., λn, (n-1)-sets of switch sections 5 having outputs A, B, a control section 4 that controls selection of path of the switch section, a 2nd multiplexer section 6 with n-input 1-output that multiplexes the optical signals of the outputs B of the (n-1) sets of switch sections 5 and the optical signal with the wavelength λn from the wavelength conversion section 3, and (n-1) lines of waveguides 7 interconnecting outputs A of the (n-1)-sets of the switch sections with the multiplexer section A of each output A. |
