<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the deodorant from which deposited components and once adsorbed malodorous components on it are hardly released, by producing a deodorant for removing an odor from an exhaust gas or discharged gas, in such a way as to contain an adsorption medium and an ion exchange resin. SOLUTION: The production of this deodorant comprises: mixing an adsorption medium and an ion exchange resin, then subjecting the mixture to papermaking with a cylinder type wet paper machine to form a paperlike sheet; and further subjecting the sheet to hot press treatment to form a plane sheet. As the adsorption medium, active carbon, a zeolite, silica gel, or the like is used and of these mediums, active carbon or a zeolite is preferred. As the form of active carbon used, any form such as powdery, granular or fibrous form can be adopted, however, fibrous active carbon is preferred because of its easy processability. As the ion exchange resin, an alkali metal salt type or ammonium salt type acidic ion exchange resin is used. Further, in addition to the adsorption medium and the ion exchange resin, if necessary, a binder is used to enhance mechanical strength of the deodorant before it is used for deodorization. As the binder, a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin binder is used.</p> |
