PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth flow of waste from a chute into a casing to remarkably improve the rate of trouble occurrence at the put-in part of a screw feeder and enable continuous stable operation of a plant by forming an inclined part on the forward connecting portion between the casing and the chute. SOLUTION: In a screw feeder 1 used in feeding general waste or industrial waste to a heat decomposition drum 100 or the like, the corner part of the forward connecting portion between a casing 2 and a chute 5 is cut only by about 45 degrees to form an inclined part 6. When a rotary driving mechanism 4 is operated, a screw 3 is rotated through a rotating shaft 10, thereby forward transferring waste supplied from the chute 5 through an inlet 8 of the casing 2 by the blades 11 of the screw 3. At this time, as the corner part of the portion for forcing the waste into the screw 3 is chamfered, the generation of sudden cutting force for the waste can be prevented, and biting in feeding with the screw 3 can be prevented.
