PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harvester that is suitable for harvesting root vegetables, for example, garlics. SOLUTION: This root vegetable harvester comprises a leave and stem holder 5 that is set in front of the driving vehicle and rotates backward the opposing side of a pair of projecting nails to hold the leaves and stems of the root vegetables, a vegetable drawing unit 6 that starts from beneath the leave and stem holder 5 and rotates the opposing side of a pair of belts backward to clamp the leaves and stems 11 held by the holder 5 and pull up them from the ground and convey them backward, the conveyer 7 that clamps the leaves and stems 11 which are pulled out of the ground and conveyed backward and permits the leaves and stems 11 to pass through its upper part but inhibit the root vegetable part from passing, and the cutter that rotates a disc cutter just above the end of the conveyer 7 to cut off the leaves and stems 11 conveyed by the conveyer.
