New crystal modification of Pigment Red 53:2 and mixture useful in lacquer, plastics, ink and electrophotographic toner and developer. New delta -modification ( delta -I) of C.I. Pigment Red 53:2 of formula (I), which is a coupling product of diazotized 2-amino-5-chloro-4-methyl-benzene-sulfonic acid with beta -naphthol converted to a salt with at least 50% calcium, has characteristic reflections in the ray powder diffractogram, measured with CuK SIMILAR a x-radiation, with relative intensities at angles (2 SIMILAR ho)/lattice spacings (d in A-1) of 32% at 3.3o/26.6 A-1, 100% at 4.7o/18.7 A-1, 14% at 7.5o/11.9 A-1, 19% at 9.4o/9.3 A-1, 13% at 10.5o/8.4 A-1, 10% at 13.8o/6.4 A-1, 9% at 14.2o/6.2 A-1, 10% at 14.9o/5.9 A-1, 11% at 16.7o/5.3 A-1, 9% at 17.6o/5.0 A-1, 16% at 18.1o/4.9 A-1, 10% at 18.9o/4.7 A-1, 7% at 20.4o/4.3 A-1, 9% at 21.1o/4.2 A-1, 9% at 22.1o/4.0 A-1, 12% at 22.7o/3.9 A-1, 9% at 23.1o/3.8 A-1, 13% at 23.6o/3.8 A-1, 9% at 24.1o/3.7 A-1, 10% at 24.9o/3.6 A-1, 23% at 25.5o/3.5 A-1, 9% at 26.3o/3.4 A-1, 9% at 27.7o/3.2 A-1, 6% at 28.1o/3.2 A-1, 6% at 28.9o/3.1 A-1 and 6% at 30.4o/2.9 A-1.
