The invention relates to a switching device (1) comprising a locking device (11) and a travelling device (12) for inserting and retracting with regard to a rack frame (8) with which said devices can only be actuated when the switching device (1) is in a non-operating state. A blocking bar (14) is guided behind an operating console (3) of the switching device (1) by means of longitudinal holes (26, 28). Said blocking bar comprises a cam element (21) which interacts with a carrier (22) of a disconnecting actuator (15). The carrier (22) and the cam element (21) interact in such a way that when the blocking bar (14) is actuated, the disconnecting actuator (15) is pulled inward and, as a result, the blocking of the switching device (1) in the non-operating state is signaled to the user.
