The seat has a safety table (4) and a safety belt (5). These are coupled, so that the table moves towards and away from a child in the seat, when the safety belt is moved forward. The coupling contains a variably adjustable transmission for size-dependent balancing of the alternating relative movements of table and belt. The safety belt is a diagonal one, with its upper end (5.2) connected in a cable system connected to the table. The table moves in slide guides (6) on either side of the seat.
