A holster assembly (10) for use with a hand-held utility knife (11) having a segmented blade (12). The holster assembly (10) comprises a plastic holster (13) having a generally hollow interior (24). The holster (13) may have a slot (42) therethrough and a guide (46) leading to the slot (42) for a user to guide an endmost blade segment (12) of a utility knife (11) into engagement with the slot (42). By simply twisting the knife (11), a user may break off the endmost blade segment (12) exposing a fresh cutting edge. A generally hollow blade well (50) may be located inside the hollow interior (24) of the holster (13) and function to collect the used blade segments. The blade well (50) may have a slot (62) and guide (64) therein.
