PURPOSE:To prevent side-slipping at the time of braking and improve the braking and driving properties. CONSTITUTION:Blocks 18, demarcated with peripheral direction main grooves 14 and lateral grooves 16, are arranged in treads 12. Lateral direction cipes 20 are provided in the blocks 18, and peripheral direction cipes 28, extending along a tire peripheral direction (arrow A direction), are provided on both sides. A relation, between a dimension I (a mean between 11 and 12) from the peripheral direction main grooves 14 of the peripheral direction cipes 28 and the cipe depth (h) of the peripheral direction cipes 28, is made within the range of 0.8<=1/<=3.0. Consequently side-slipping can be effectively prevented on ice roads by the edge effect of the peripheral direction cipes 28 with the rigity of the blocks 18 kept sufficiently. Also braking and driving properties can be improved by the edge effect of the lateral direction cipes 20. |
