<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a correspondent relation between a VPCI and a VPI automatically by using a HELLO packet, that is used to exchange information between switches which is one of routing functions of a PNNI(Private Network- Network Interface) so as to decide and acquire the VPCI between the switches. SOLUTION: In a ATM switch device 1 a VPCI information extract section 3-1 extracts an input port ID and VPCI information of its own switch from a HELLO packet and sends them to a VPCI decision section 4. Upon the receipt of the input port ID and the VPCI information, the VPCI decision section 4 sends the input port to a VPCI/VPI correspondent relation storage section 5, receives corresponding contents and decides VPCI/VPI correspondent relation information from these information. Upon the receipt of the VPCI/VPI correspondent relation information from the VPCI decision section 4, the VPCI/VPI correspondent relation storage section 5 updates contents of a VPCI/VPI correspondent table.</p> |
