PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance address designating capability in the processing direction when an emission print bar is used in electrophotographic printing. SOLUTION: A multibit word (image data) for each light emitting element is fed along a bus and each word represents the sub-interval exposure profile of an associated light emitting element. Latches 120A, 120B store the word representing the exposure profile of an associated light emitting element temporarily. Decoders 130A, 130B decode the stored word into a plurality of binary bits. Decoded data represents the subinterval exposure profile of an associated light emitting element. Parallel-series converters 132A, 132B deliver the subinterval exposure profile binary bit to logic elements 134A, 134B which control passage of the sub-interval exposure profile binary bit based on a strobe signal from a controller. |
