The holder has a head mounting (1) on which the microscope is mounted and which is connected via several linkages (2,3,4) to a fixed object or to the ceiling, floor or walls. The arrangement enables various positioning of the holder. The holder can be continuously locked hydraulically and/or mechanically by a switch or electronically via a speech controller.
