An apparatus is described for the needling of a nonwoven 5, with at least one needle board 1 capable of being driven back and forth in the pricking direction via a stroke drive, with a stitch base 7 located opposite the needle board 1 and with a roller take-up 6 for the needled nonwoven 5, the said roller take-up being located downstream of the stitch base 7 in the nonwoven run- through direction and being connected to a rotary drive 10. In order to provide advantageous needling conditions, it is proposed that the rotary drive 10 for the roller take-up 6 of the stroke drive for the needle board 1 have a control device 13 for a take-up speed fluctuating periodically about an average value or for a stroke frequency fluctuating periodically about an average value, in each case with a plurality of fluctuation periods within a conveying distance corresponding to the length of the needling zone in the nonwoven run-through direction. |
