PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the shape precision of both a photocuring layer and a three-dimensional shape and also to enhance working efficiency in a method for forming the three-dimensional shape by stacking the photocuring layer in which a thin layer of photocuring resin liquid is cured. SOLUTION: The desired three-dimensional shape is formed by irradiating light 7 to photocuring resin liquid 1 to form a photocuring layer 4 and stacking the photocuring layer 4 in a plurality of layers. In this case, a forming base 3 or the surface of the previously formed photocuring layer 4 is sunk to the depth equal to thickness of a thin layer of resin liquid necessary to form the photocuring layer of the following layer for the liquid level of resin liquid 1 and thereafter the whole liquid level is smoothed by a smoothing member 8, which is horizontally moved from the circumference of the photocuring layer 4 to the upper part, in the vicinity of the liquid level of resin liquid 1.
