PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device for a plasma display panel, allowing an application over a wide range. SOLUTION: This drive device has a display panel 96 including electrodes along a plurality of electrodes along column and row directions, and common electrodes, a row data driver 94 for applying image data to the electrodes of the display panel 96 in a row direction, a column scan driver 92 for applying a drive signal to the electrode of the display panel 96 in each column direction, and common drivers 91 and 95 for applying a drive signal to the common electrodes of the display panel 96. According to this construction, a scan drive operation is made, using an electrode line in a column direction and image data is addressed, using an electrode line in a row direction, thereby simplifying the circuitry of each drive and enhancing the applicability of a plasma display panel module. |
