PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare a replenisher soln. and to enable reuse without reducing developing speed by developing a photosensitive resin letterpress contg. one or more of specified ionic hydrophilic groups with a developer prepd. by dissolving developing chemicals including an inorg. alkali metallic salt and a surfactant in water. SOLUTION: A photosensitive resin letterpress contg. one or more of ionic hydrophilic groups represented by -COOM, -SO3 M, -SO4 M and (-O)3n PO(OM)n [where (n) is 1 or 2 and M is H, a monovalent metallic atom or an ammonium compd.] is developed with a developer prepd. by dissolving developing chemicals including an inorg. alkali metallic salt and a surfactant in water. The development is carried out while replenishing the developer, part of which is discarded. The concn. of alkali metallic ions from an inorg. alkali metallic salt in a developer added is <=0.3 equiv./l, preferably <=0.25 equiv./l, further preferably <=0.2 equiv./l. |
