PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a USB controller by controlling the supply of a reset signal to the USB controller. SOLUTION: A reset control circuit 25 is provided in the front stage of a reset signal input terminal (RESET) of the USB controller 16, and consequently, a system reset signal and a resume reset signal can be supplied selectively to the reset signal input terminal of the USB controller 16. Therefore, power- down control over the USB controller 16 by host software using the suspend state prescribed in the USB specifications and power-down control over the USB controller 16 using the ON/OFF operation of the power source can be both used by selective switching at need at the time of the transition of the operation state of the system by controlling the reset signal selecting operation of the reset control circuit 25 with USB reset control information.
