The tray is characterized in that it is formed of a plurality of laminar material layers and in that said cavities (2) are formed from a series of star-shaped cuttings (4a) with a common center and made in said layers and a circular slit (5a) also made in said layers. With said process it is possible to fabricate alveolar trays made of ecological materials such as paper or cardboard.
