The apparatus includes an existing telephone system providing connections between telephones and local telecommunications companies. The system is further expanded by the addition of one or more additional devices. These devices act as a connector between the external telecommunication terminal and the internal telephone center or an internal terminal. The device may intercept the number dialed and determine the time and the best connection via e.g. a databank such as an EEPROM or CD-ROM. It then dials another number supported by an internal or external databank. Independent claims also cover other combinations of existing systems and additional devices.
