PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load current of a motor driver by suppressing increase in the drive current of a motor at the time of brake control thereof. SOLUTION: When a motor 1 during forward rotation is stopped by applying brake, a CPU 3 delivers an 'H'-level signal from a reverse rotation control terminal to the RVS(reverse rotation) terminal of a motor driver 2 and an 'H'-level signal from the PWM output terminal to an END terminal of the motor driver 2, thus reversing the motor. During that interval, a monitoring section 5 monitors the motor current to be detected, and current supply is controlled to be interrupted for a specified time when the motor current exceeds a specified level. At brake operation, supply current on/off time is set for the motor and supply/non-supply of drive current to the motor is controlled according to the on/off time thus set. |
