The system has two units (40,50), to measure the magnetic and electric field strengths of a static or low frequency field, respectively. An evaluation unit (60) has two processing units (61,62), to receive a measuring signal for the magnetic and electric field strengths, respectively, and a combination unit (63), to receive the output signals from the processing units, and deliver a signal, which is a measure of the total electromagnetic loading.
