PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for a non-electroconductive light-shielding layer, stable for a long period of time, excellent in light-shielding capability and blackness, and suitable for producing the non-electroconductive light-shielding layer, and to provide a non- electroconductive light-shielding layer and a color filter produced by using the above composition. SOLUTION: This composition for a non-electroconductive light-shielding layer contains an alkali soluble binder having 2,000-20,000 average molecular weight, a photo-polymerizable monomer, an improving agent for the physical property of a coated membrane, a photo-polymerization initiator, a pigment and a solvent as main components, wherein the pigment is at least one kind selected from complex metal oxide fine particles consisting of CuMn2 O4 and those obtained by substituting a part of the CuMn2 O4 with Fe, Co and/or Ni. Also, the non-electroconductive light-shielding layer is produced by applying the above composition for the non-electroconductive light-shielding layer on a base plate, then drying and forming a pattern by at least subjecting the layer to the exposure to a pattern and development thereof. Also, a color filter is prepared by providing a black matrix consisting of image elements of red, green and blue and the above non-electroconductive light-shielding layer on a transparent base plate. |
