<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base recording fluid for ink jet printers which has excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: A water-based pigment dispersion for ink jet printers is obtained by feeding a suspension into a disperser composed of an external fixed container (I) having an inlet and an outlet for the suspension, a separator, and a cylindrical inner wall and a cylindrical rotor (II) being rotatable about a rotation axis and provided inside the container (1) so as to leave a certain clearance between the both, wherein the rotor (II) has a hollow liquid chamber, a slit capable of feeding the suspension into the liquid chamber and opponent to the inlet, and a plurality of liquid discharge ports communicating with the outside of the liquid chamber and formed on the side wall of the cylinder; and the external fixed container (I) is distant from the external periphery of the rotor so as to leave a certain clearance between the both (I) and (II) and has a separator having a plurality of holes smaller in diameter than the dispersion medium; and the dispersion medium is packed in the clearance between the rotor and the separator at such a rate as to give a residence time of 30 sec or shorter.</p> |
