PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate an access time as much as possible and to reduce useless power consumption by turning off rotation drive of a spindle means in the state that a focus servo is executed when a standby time becomes a prescribed time or above. SOLUTION: A system controller 10 resets a timer 10a during the standby time for a next read command to start to count. Then, when a count value arrives at a prescribed time t1, the system controller 10 turns off a tracking servo and a thread servo for a servo processor 14, and succeedingly, stops the rotation drive of the spindle motor 6. Then, the system controller 10 controls an APC circuit 19 to reduce a laser output, and further reduces a servo gain on a focus servo loop for the servo processor 14. By such a procession, disk rotation drive is stopped in the state that the focus servo is turned on. |
