PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having low crystallinity and excellent emulsification resistance and keeping the characteristic features such as quick curability and high hardness by using an acrylic acid having a specific acid value as a raw material and esterifying the acid with pentaerythritol or dipentaerythritol. CONSTITUTION:The objective pentaerythritol-based polyfunctional acrylate can be produced by using an acrylic acid containing an acrylic acid oligomer and having an acid value of 600-710 (especially 620-680) and heating 1 equivalent of pentaerythritol or dipentaerythritol and 1.0-1.5 equivalent of the acrylic acid in the presence of an organic solvent and an esterification catalyst to effect the esterification reaction. The pentaerythritol-based polyfunctional acrylate has a hydroxyl value of preferably <=50. The product has low crystallinity and excellent emulsification resistance while keeping the original characteristic features. |
