PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving the unevenness of a display color tone generated especially due to a temperature difference and visual angle difference in a display screen. SOLUTION: A diffusion sheet 12 or a prism sheet 13 colored so as to cancel a color tone change in the display surface of a liquid crystal panel 16 is formed between a plane-like light source and the panel 16. Namely a gradation-like pattern 17 is printed on the sheet 12 or 13 in the vicinity of a cold cathod fluorescent tube 14.
