PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject film having excellent heat resistance, resistance to solvents and resistance to chemicals, and suitable for a build-up lamination method and having excellent dielectric properties in a high-frequency wave zone by containing a specific cyanate esters compound, a specific phenolic compound, a polyphenylene ether resin, a metallic reaction catalyst and a specific flame retarder, and making the resultant modified cyanate ester-based composition (semi) cure. SOLUTION: This film is obtained by (semi) curing a composition comprising (A) a cyanate esters compound e.g. 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane} expressed by formula I (R1 is CH2 , etc.; R2 and R3 are each H or methyl), (B) a monofunctional phenolic compound e.g. p-(α-cumyl)phenol} expressed by formula II R4 and R5 are each H, etc.; (n) is 1 or 2}. (C) a polyphenylene ether resin, (D) a metallic reaction catalyst and (E) a flame retarder not having reactivity with a cyanate esters compound (e.g. tetrabromocyclooctane). |
