The present invention provides a method for treating chronic hepatitis C infections in patients in need of such treatment comprising administering an amount of IFN-alpha in association with an amount of amantadine effective to treat hepatitis C. In accordance with the invention, IFN-alpha and amantadine are administered at the same time or sequentially. The present invention also provides a kit for treating a hepatitis C infection containing IFN-alpha and amantadine in suitable dosage forms for administering the combination therapy. |
