PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically correct writing omission or a writing error with respect to an questionaire, on population dynamics. SOLUTION: Whether or not a correct public office code and a correct address are included in data read by an OCR(optical character reader) 30 is checked by using public office files 23, 24 and an address data base 31. When a correct address is not included but a correct public office code is included, an address controlled by the public office of this public office code is read from the public office files to make the address of an individual. On the other hand, when the correct public office code is not included but the correct address is included, a public office controlling the pertinent address is retrieved from the public office files. Then, when only one public office is retrieved, the public office code of this public office is made the public office code of the public office for controlling the address of the individual. On the other hand, when plural public offices are retrieved, an error output is executed by considering that the public office code of the public office which controls the address of the individual is unknown. |
