PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacture of an exhaust gas cleaning catalytic convertor wherein a catalyst carrier can be incorporated without being damaged, exhaust gas can be surely sealed, and its productivity is excellent. SOLUTION: The catalytic convertor 1 stores by inserting a synthetic sheet 6 provided wherein a most outer layer of a mineral sheet composed of an alumina or silica ceramic fiber is coated with an organic resin sheet 7, into a cylindrical metal shell 2 material composed of a C or U shaped section stainless steel. Thereafter, it is compacted so that filled density of the synthetic sheet 6 becomes 0.20 to 0.50 g/cm<3> and the section becomes O-shaped, and incorporated with welding bond thereafter. |
